Meet and Greet the Baumgartners on Saturday, July 31st from 9 - 11 am
Congregational Meeting on August 1st around 12:15 pm

Throughout the last 20 months, your Pastor Nominating Committee has had the privilege of serving the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood (”FPCH”) in a search for our next Senior Pastor and Head of Staff. Thank you for supporting our efforts through your prayers, patience, and encouragement. In every step of this process, God blessed our committee by molding and shaping us into a family united and led by the Holy Spirit.

In June 2010, we were collectively led to the clear conviction that God had revealed the person He had chosen to lead FPCH. We held our first and only vote and unanimously selected the Rev. Dan Baumgartner to be our nominee for senior pastor. Over the past year and a half, our committee has met almost every week and considered over 160 candidates, listened to many audio and video sermons, travelled to observe candidates in their home pulpits, interviewed a few candidates, spoke with references, and conducted independent research. We have been encouraged by the great men and women of God in our denomination who faithfully preach the Gospel each week.

Even more, it was with praise, thanksgiving, and deep humility that we enthusiastically announced Dan Baumgartner as our nominee for senior pastor on Sunday, the 4th of July. We are excited about the future of FPCH under Dan’s leadership. His skills, talents, ministry interests, and theology make him uniquely qualified to meet the needs of our congregation. Our hope and prayer is that as you come to know Dan, and his wonderful wife Anne, that you will love them as we do. We believe that waiting on the Lord and following the leading of the Holy Spirit has been richly blessed!

Dan will interview with the Committee on Ministry of our presbytery on July 28th and will preach at FPCH all three services on Sunday, August 1st. In addition, there will be a Congregational Meeting immediately following the end of the 11 a.m. service in the Sanctuary at which time our members will vote to confirm the call. Assuming an affirmative vote, Dan will officially join the church staff in November. We invite you to get to know Dan and his wife, Anne, at a “Meet and Greet” reception on Saturday, July 31st from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Mears Center.  Light refreshments will be served.
